Things To Do in Key West in December

They say “it’s the most wonderful time of the year,” but until you’ve spent December in Key West, you can’t know how truly wonderful the holidays can be. Why not spend them in paradise? While the rest of the country sets into a deep freeze, Key West is still enjoying temperatures in the 70s and 80s. There’s plenty of holiday cheer to go around in the tropics in December, too.

Historic Lighted Inns Tour

Key West is famous for its unique architectural melange, from Victorian mansions to conch cottages, there’s so much to take in, especially during the holidays. Enjoy a tour of three historic inns totally decked out for the holidays on December 7th and 14th.

28th Annual Schooner Wharf Lighted Boat Parade

The Lighted Boat Parade is a holiday tradition that locals and visitors alike marvel over. Come out to the Historic Seaport on December 13th after sunset to watch a parade of boats lit up in Christmas lights and decorations. Want to be a part of the parade? Hop aboard a decorated Fury Water Adventures catamaran as they sail the harbor and cheer on at the judging station.

Christmas Offshore

If you’re in Key West on Christmas Day and looking for something different to do, consider starting a new tradition and spending the day offshore with Fury Key Water Adventures aboard their Christmas Day All Day Water Adventure. You’ll enjoy breakfast and a special Christmas luncheon seven miles offshore at the largest coral reef system in all of North America. Get ready for an action-packed Christmas Day of snorkeling, parasailing, jet skiing and more.

Last Sunset of 2018 Celebration

What better way to spend the last sunset of 2018 than offshore on a sunset sail. Fury Water Adventures is throwing a very special party full of Champagne, music and amazing sunset views. It’s the perfect way to get your New Year’s Eve festivities started.

New Years Celebrations

But it’s not where the festivities end. Key West is a classic New Years Eve destination with parties up and down Duval Street. Instead of the ball drop in Times Square, take your pick from a drag queen dropping in a stiletto at Bourbon Street, a conch shell drop at Sloppy Joe’s, or a wench drop at Schooner Wharf Bar.

Happy Holidays. See you in Key West!
